|Link disinfection: remove bad backlinks that point to your site
|Getting rid of bad backlinks that point to your website can be a time-consuming and complicated task. That’s why we developed the Link Disinfection tool.If your website rankings have been damaged by an SEO service that used shady methods to promote your website, the link disinfection tool can help you a lot. What exactly does the Link Disinfection tool do?
Google does not like artificial links (paid links, links from automated linking schemes, links that have been created by automated tools, all other artificial links, etc.).
If many of the links that point to your website are artificial, it is likely that Google will penalize your site.
If you have received a notification from Google, the Link Disinfection tool will help you to clean up your backlink profile. It analyzes the backlinks that point to your website and it filters the backlinks that might be suspicious.
Step 1: Check the links that are listed in the Link Disinfection tool list.
Click a link in the Link Disinfection tool to visit the linking web page. If you don’t want to have a link from the page, click the “Add” link to add the link as a toxic link to the link manager:
Step 2: Contact the owners of the linking websites and ask them to remove the link.
Toxic links are marked in red in the link manager. They also have a red beaker icon instead of the regular website favicon.
The link manager can help you to get the contact information of other websites. Use the ‘Contact Finder Pro™’ feature to get the contact information of the linking site. Then contact the webmaster of the other site and ask them to remove the link to your page.
Step 3: Submit backlinks to Google’s disavow links tool
Some webmasters won’t remove the spammy links to your website. In addition, many spam websites don’t have any contact information at all. In that case, create a disavow links file and submit it to Google.
The Link Disinfection tool in SEOprofiler can create the disavow links file for you. Google’s disavow links tool enables you to inform Google about the backlinks that you don’t want. You can use that tool if a website doesn’t want to remove the harmful backlink to your site.
The Link Disinfection plan is available in the SEOprofiler Smart plan and above. Log in to your SEOprofiler account now to use the Link Disinfection tool or test the SEOprofiler Smart plan risk-free:

|Official information about Google’s new mobile algorithm
|In a Q&A session on Google+, Mary and Michael from Google’s webmaster relations team revealed more information about Google’s new mobile ranking algorithm.
What is Google’s new mobile algorithm?
Google is going to introduce an addition to the ranking algorithm that influences the position of your web pages in Google’s mobile search results.
The change only affects the rankings that your web pages have if the user searches on a mobile phone. The regular search results are not affected by the new algorithm.
What did Google say in the Q&A session?
How to check if your website is mobile-friendly
It is important to make sure that your web pages are mobile-friendly. Fortunately, Google has a tool for this that is available here. Just enter the URL of your website and click the “Analyze” button.
If your website fails the test then you have to adjust the design of your web pages. Instead of creating a separate website for mobile devices, you could use responsive design for your web pages. If you use WordPress, there are many themes that support responsive design.
Being mobile-friendly is not enoughA website that currently does not have high rankings won’t get high rankings just because it is mobile-friendly. There are many more things that Google wants to find on your web pages. Check your website with the website audit tool in SEOprofiler to make sure that Google can index all pages of your website.

|1. Official: Google to launch doorway pages ranking penalty
|When was the last time you encountered a doorway pages in Google’s search results? Although this doesn’t happen very often, Google seems to think that doorway pages are still an issue. In the official Google blog, Google announced a new penalty for doorway pages.
What is a doorway page?
According to Google’s announcement, doorway pages are pages that are created solely for search engines.
How can you identify doorway pages on your website?
Google published a list of questions to ask of pages that could be seen as doorway pages:
If you can answer these pages with “yes”, chances are that Google thinks that your page is a doorway page.
Most of the things above also apply to landing pages that are used in Google AdWords campaigns.
It is considered good practice to use individual landing pages for each ad group. Landing pages that have a strong connection to the ad text usually convert better than general landing pages.
Will Google penalize these landing pages? Unfortunately, that’s not clear yet.
Landing pages are good for pay per click campaigns but they are not suitable for organic search engine optimization. High rankings on Google and other search engines are the result of on-site and off-site optimization.

|Backlinks are dead, or are they?|
|“Link building is dead” is something that you might have heard from several SEOs during the last few weeks and months. It’s true that search engine optimization has changed a lot. But are links really not important anymore? Or are some people just drawing the wrong conclusions?
Backlinks are dead, long live backlinks!
Links are a very important ranking signal for Google. Links are so important that Google puts a lot of effort into detecting bad backlinks. If you hear someone saying “link building does not work anymore”, the person actually says “link spamming does not work anymore.”
The automatic links that might have helped your website in the past will get your website penalized today. Automatically creating backlinks in bulk does not work anymore. Faking social network profiles to get backlinks does not work anymore. Spamming forums and article websites with fake or low quality content to get backlinks does not work anymore. Automated link networks do not work anymore.
To make things clear: spamming does not work anymore!
However, this has nothing to do with real backlinks. Real backlinks from good sites are the best thing that can happen to your rankings.
Things, not strings: what does Google mean with that?
Google’s ranking concept is “things, not strings”. That means that the context of a link is important. The links that point to your website should come from pages that are related to the topic of your own website. Google has been saying this for years but now they are serious about it.
If all of the links that point to your website contain exactly the same keyword, you can be sure that this will trigger an ‘unnatural links’ filter.
If the links to your website contain keywords that are related to the topic of your website, Google will find your website relevant for that topic.
Google is serious about this and that’s good news for you
Some people still think that they can trick Google’s algorithm with the ‘brand new secret method that will get your site on Google’s first result page with just a few mouse clicks.’ These spam tools do not work anymore and it is very likely that your website will be penalized if you fake links and other things.
Links that require human intervention are the links that Google considers in the ranking algorithm. Quality is much more important than quantity.
A handful of high quality links are much better than hundreds of automatically created backlinks.
The tools in SEOprofiler help you to build backlinks as efficiently as possible. While it is not possible to automate the link building process, the tools can make your life much easier:
